Before You Submit
Your song should meet the following requirements before it is submitted for consideration.
AI Usage
We review the use of AI in both the composition and vocals.
Maximum Song Length
Longer songs must strongly hold the listener’s attention.
File Format
We only accept music submitted in MP3 format.
Maximum File Size
A 3-minute and 30-second song is usually approximately 8 MB, depending on its encoding settings.
Bit Rate
Submit the highest-quality MP3 version available.
Sample Rate
This sample rate provides the best compatibility with our system.
Metadata
Your MP3 must include the song title, musician or band name and artwork.
Metadata Language
Song information included in the metadata must be written in English.
Mixing and Mastering
Home-studio and recording-studio productions are accepted. Mixing and mastering quality are influential parts of the curation process.
Compression and Normalization
Compression or normalization may be used when appropriate for the recording.
Bit Depth
Either bit depth may be used during production before the final MP3 is created.
Important Rights Information
Regarding musical-work performance rights for our stations, LA Underground Radio does not hold performance licenses with ASCAP, BMI, SESAC or GMR.
By submitting music for consideration, submitting entities and individuals represent and warrant that the submitted music has been registered with one of these four performing rights organizations. Alternatively, when the songwriter or publisher is not represented by one of these organizations, the submitting party represents and warrants that the applicable rights are personally controlled and grants LA Underground Radio permission to broadcast the material.
Because LA Underground Radio streams music over the internet, submitting entities and individuals also represent and warrant that the submitted sound recording has been registered with SoundExchange. Alternatively, when the artist or sound-recording copyright owner is not represented by SoundExchange, the submitting party represents and warrants that the applicable rights are personally controlled and grants LA Underground Radio permission to stream the material on a non-interactive basis.
